You should always avoid doing these 5 things after eating

Most of the people tend to lie down or watch a TV after their dinner. If you are among those people that have this habit, you should know it is extremely bad for your health.

These are the main 5 things you should never do after eating:

1. Sleep – never go to sleep after your meal because this way you are increasing the chances of causing bloating and discomfort. Also you will disrupt your sleeping pattern by feeling of burn in your stomach. One study made by University of Ioannina Medical School found that people who wait longer period of time to go to bed after their meal have less chances of experiencing stroke. So as a result of that it is highly recommended not to go to sleep right after your meal, but rather wait few hours.

2. Smoke – Do not smoke right after your meal. You should wait at least couple of hours because the nicotine can bond with the excess oxygen needed for digestion and can force the body to absorb carcinogens. There are plenty of studies which reveal that smoking after your meal is same as lighting up 10 cigarettes at once. This is extremely dangerous for your health and it might lead to development of lung cancer.

3. Fruits – it is highly recommended to consume fruit before your meal especially on empty stomach. Eating fruits on empty stomach is important because it requires different enzymes for digestion, and also it contains sugars that require more time in order to be completely absorbed. Also fruits are extremely rich with nutrients and fiber which can improve your overall health.

4. Shower – try to avoid having shower after your meal because this way you will increase the blood flow in your hands and legs, and will relieve the blood flow in the stomach which will result with stomach pain

5. Tea – you should avoid consuming tea right after your meal in order to avoid interference with the iron absorption. Tea contains tannic acid which can bind with protein and iron and cause health problems. Studies suggest that drinking tea after your meal results with 87% decrease in absorption of iron. On the other hand, deficiency of iron can lead to anemia and loss of appetite, cold hands and feet, weakness, dizziness, fatigue and pale skin.

These are the main things you need to avoid doing after your meal and remember to pay attention to the time. You should always leave some space between your meal and lying down, drinking tea and eating fruit.
