Frito-Lay Recalls Jalapeno Chips
|Frito-Lay released a statement which explains that they are withdrawing their Jalapeno Flavored Lay’s potato chips and Jalapeno Flavored Miss Vickie’s potato chips due to presence of salmonella.
They suspect that the seasoning in these two types of potato chips might contain salmonella which is really dangerous and can cause serious health issues.
So far there is no report from the FDA in regards to this statement released by the company, but it is expected soon to report on this issue.
The additional tests made by Frito-Lay found the presence of salmonella in the jalapeno powder, and decided to recall all seasoning blend products. Also all suppliers have been informed and need to recall the Jalapeno chips.
Those people that might have already consumed these products should be aware of the symptoms the bacteria cause. Some of those symptoms are vomiting, diarrhea, nausea and fever.
Other people might experience headache, cramps in the abdominal area, and loss of appetite. The first symptoms people will experience within 12-72 hours after they get infected, and might last between 4 and 7 days.
There are some cases which salmonella cause serious health issues.
Here is the list of all recalled products:
1. The two products mentioned above that have printed “guaranteed fresh” with the date of ‘July 4’ or before in all sizes (printed on the upper part of the package):
– Jalapeno Flavored Lay’s Kettle Cooked potato chips
– Jalapeno Flavored Miss Vickie’s Kettle Cooked potato chips
2. All sizes of the multipack which has printed “use by date of JUN 20” or before, as well as multipack which has printed “guaranteed fresh JUL 4” or before.
– Lay’s Kettle Cooked multipack – 12 count
– Frito-Lay Bold Mix – 20 count
– Miss Vickie’s multipack – 30 count
– Lay’s Kettle Cooked multipack – 30 count
– Miss Vickie’s multipack box – 32count
Make sure that you don’t eat any of these products, and if you have already bought you should dispose them.
