Scientists Prove: Taking Turmeric once per day equals 60 Minutes of Exercise!
|Many scientists have been researching the turmeric properties and its healing abilities. As a result of that all these scientists and researchers have become extremely interested in this spice.
All these researches made by scientist (more than 5000 studies) have come to conclusion that turmeric has better ability to treat cancer, arthritis, diabetes and depression compared to any pharmaceutical drugs.
Latest study show that turmeric has the ability to reduce heart attack risks if taken once per day (1 tea spoon) and it can easily be compared to sixty minutes walks recommended for heart attack reduction risk.
Details of the study
This study took eight weeks and involved 32 women with postmenopausal. The women were divided in three groups: turmeric group, exercise group, or control group that did not change their diet or exercise during the study period. By using ultra sound device, scientists assessed all women’s blood vessels through endothelium. Basically they measured the elasticity of their arteries and also measured their flow-mediated arterial dilation.
The turmeric group was taking 1 teaspoon of turmeric every day, whereas the exercise group was practicing aerobic exercises led by aerobic specialist (2-3 times per week) and unknown number of exercises at home which included cycling and walking. Each session of aerobic exercises lasted for at least 45-60 minutes with approximately 60-70% intensity for heart rate.
For these two groups the researchers have found out that there is extreme improvement in their endothelial function. What’s more interesting is that scientist researchers have found out that both groups have reached the same results for reduction of endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis. It was proven that one tea spoon of turmeric per day has the same results as exercising.
Don’t be surprised
Chiang Mai University of Thailand created this study in 2012 and found out that turmeric prevents heart attack rate. Turmeric was given to a patient three days before surgery and it was found out that it reduced the frequency of the heart attack by 56% in relation to the coronary artery bypass.
It was also found that turmeric impacts directly the cardiovascular system by modulating C-reactive protein, plasma maondialdehyde, and N-terminal pro-B-type naturietic peptide levels. This is what the researches concluded:
“The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of curcuminoids may account for their cardioprotective effects shown in this study…curcuminoids decrease proinflammatory cytokines during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery and decrease the occurrence of cardiomyocytic apoptosis after cardiac ischemia/reperfusion injury in animal models.”
In other words, turmeric has magical properties that decrease the inflammation and prevent damage and death of endothelium cells.
Turmeric cardiovascular benefits are proven, and you should consider of taking them daily. You may use it as a powder once per day (one teaspoon) or you may prepare it as a juice in mixture with coconut or olive oil.
There is another way you may use turmeric, prepare your own turmeric capsules but make sure you don’t mix it with other medicine.
Finally, please be aware that taking turmeric doesn’t mean that you need to give up on exercising. This combination of turmeric and exercise will keep you extremely fit and healthy.
